A lot of us were very eagerly awaiting this update so we could take the new fighter tests.

I'm seconding Sala's sentiment, and thinking a lot of others feel the same way.

Add the new tests sooner than 3 weeks from now, pretty please????

I was thinking that maybe he's planning to add 9th and 10th circle tests as well (since some fighters will be passing 8th immediately) and that they're not ready.

Personally, even if 8th isn't solidly decided, I'd love to see just seventh.

(From what I saw of the critters in seventh, it seemed pretty well balanced, so I imagine that's basically set.)

I've been waiting more than 4 and a half years now for new fighter tests, so I -guess- I could wait another three weeks. But.. but.. I don't want to!

Last time I saw Slarty he said he was *probably* going to introduce 7th and 8th circle tests in v466, and 9th and 10th soon after. Obviously that didn't happen (unless he's planning to introduce them mid-update somehow), so he probably either didn't get them finalized in time or is holding them off for some reason. I'm sure someone will ask him about it during his fairgrounds chat.

I know he's working on them. I've helped test a few. Perhaps he'll post his status? He's also giving a Fairgrounds chat soon, so quiz him then too.

They won't be released mid update. You can be almost entirely sure that you will have at least 7th and 8th in 469. There were a few concerns I had, and I decided it was better to wait and make sure everything was done right. Tests are not the kind of thing it is easy to make changes to once they are added.

Don't take 469 as a solid release date. I haven't yet resolved all of my concerns. But I would give it very good odds.

As things stand, the bulk of the work for 7th and 8th is done. Just my small concerns left. 9th and 10th will follow, but they have not been seriously started, so I can't give you any idea when they will come.

Slartibartfast, I'm not around often enough to have any idea who you are, but thank you for working on the tests.

I can't begin to imagine the level of whining and moaning that will follow their implementation, and I'd be lying if I said there's no chance I might join that chorus... but to finally realize an innocuous game feature that has been requested repeatedly for some years now deserves commendation.

So, I offer my thanks in advance, before I start to complain

When the tests were being tested, I heard that 7th was moderately difficult, and 8th was quite difficult. Perhaps only the Mujin, Gorvin types would pass 8th. a 9th and 10th will be silly difficult, so to bitch for those now is silly. I don't even take my 8th healer test anymore because it's ridiculously hard.

"What about poor muj and gorv who pass 8th right off, and have no other test to take?" suckahz, that's what you get for being top ranked. waiting for new tests is one of the great features of clan lord.

When healer tests were added, they put in enough circles to keep healers busy for years. I see no reason why fighters should be different.

Id agree with Mike, 9 & 10 should go in. I know many will not get to them but i still think they should go in, give everyone something to aim for

I still dont think the difference between 6 and 7 • shoul be 3 years playing though

I thought Slarty said he was going to work on 9 and 10, but was hurrying with 7 and 8. He didn't say he wasn't going to work on them. Would you rather have him wait to give 7 and 8 until 9 and 10 are done? I don't think so.

I think Mike and Fundin got mislead by Suu'ub's quote of what I said. My statement was pure speculation (also: wrong) as to why 7th and 8th didn't make it in v466.
