Saturday, Jan 8th, 6pm PST: Battle Healing Basics, by Sunoril
Sunday, Jan 9th, 3pm PST: Basic Battle Smarts: A Field Experience for Healers and Fighters, by Sunoril and Paranoidos
I asked Sunoril and Paranoidos to do this followup class, suggesting that they provide live advice and critique, and demonstrate good basic healing and fighting tactics in practice. While Sunoril's first class may include a field trip, I felt the last time he taught it, there wasn't enough time for the field trip, and healers had only begun to understand what he had talked about. So I encourage healers to attend both classes, to hear the basic ideas and then see how they apply in practice.
Saturday, Jan 22nd, 6pm PST: Healing on High Level Hunts, for everyone, by Talin.
I asked one top healer to teach this class, and she told me to ask Talin instead, because she felt Talin was the best. I succeeded in scheduling this in the same time slot as Sunoril's class, in the hope the same people could attend both. Note that Talin is encouraging nonhealers to attend as well, I'm sure because healing effectively on a high level hunt requires cooperation from everyone. I don't know what she has planned as a field trip: aren't you curious too?
My theme for January was healing in battle. J'nder agreed to teach a class on rodding with J'jh, and I've asked for them to give me a date and time, preferably in January between the above two classes. Stay tuned for the dynamic duo!
Saturday, Feb 5th, 11pm PST: Exploration and Expedition Healing and Survival (all professions), by Omega. This is not a repeat of his last class, but a continuation, since he said he didn't have time the last time to cover everything. Harper raved about it. So enjoy it for the first time, or enjoy it again!
Thursday, Feb 17th, 7pm PST: Healers: Leading without Blame, by Brune, lecture only. One of the things Brune told me is that healers need to influence the leadership of the group, even if they're not the one in charge. Learn Brune's subtle tricks! And how not to feel guilty about using them!
Thursday, Feb 24th, 6-8pm PST: Rescues and other Mayhem, by Shakyamuni.
I gave many students my perspective on rescuing last year, and I want to expose students to other perspectives and approaches. I asked Shakyamuni in particular because he was involved in several rescues when the Rebels were in revolt on Phineas Island. It's a two hour class because of the field trip, and I can't imagine what mayhem he has in store!
Other classes not yet scheduled:
Self-Rodding and Baking, by Tara.
Chaining Beyond your Ranks, by Soul Hunter.
I'm also considering having a couple of classes which would be question and answer sessions with some healers who can teach the art. I have some commitments from ledgerholders already, but would like to make sure there's student interest and, more importantly, that good questions would be asked. If you have questions that you'd like ledgerholders to answer, discuss, and debate, let me know.
You can reach me at Puddleby Box 2132, a Sentinel Private Message, or TarynCL@comcast.net. Or, of course, in the lands when I'm not busy.
