Fafnir thinks that a bot account should be allowed because it's hard to gain ranks as a low-level exile unless you have high-level help, and high-level help isn't always available.

I don't really agree with that. Especially with free time now for all old exiles, I figure we should have a good amount of exiles around most times if you need someone else to hunt with. Or, at least, we certainly *should* get to that point... invite your friends! ;)

And you don't need super-exiles to hunt with anyway. Sure you can't get 10 ranks an hour at Jades, but you can hunt *some* sort of experience with other low-level exiles, even if it isn't tons and tons.

Fafnir also seems to think that we're going to need the screen vertical in order to see all the players on the players window. It *does* scroll, you know, and if we have enough people on that it is scrolling, that sounds fantastic to me.

To obtain a decent character which means a lot of ranks or you place it in the lib for years or you get the favor of dedicated übers like Suu'ub or Lorikeet to do Jades for many hours. After you can get it fast better if Geotzou agree to take you to the foothills. With much more exiles clanning I think the most urgent is now to improve the list of those clanning or it will become necessary to place the screen on the vertical (turned 90º).

I don't know what you are asking for Fafnir, but if you want a second account, it's really cheap now. You can buy one account, put the character in the library, and never pay again, if that's what you want. Of course, it doesn't add anything to the number of people playing. You can also, for a little more money, move one of your characters to the other account instead.

Unlike what you might be thinking, I don't do jades for hours at a time consistently. It is, however, one avenue for helping rank gain, that can be fun for a while. Hours is a bit much. I'm up for taking anyone anywhere where they get experience. That includes areas from the vermine tree to the glen. Unlike all except the very top fighters, healers (those who can no longer hit for experience) can only gain experience through the experience of the fighters they are helping. Fighters sometimes forget that their 6 ranks translate to a healer's one message.

Strange as a question become a supposed opinion. Joe is talking about hundred of bots so I ask if even one is ok. But why a bot since there is no special farming place and the rank fountains are a regular path.

Joe is questionning if an agratis special adventure done well can justify a free inscription. That would be great of course but we know that at the beginning or you do a very long solo and you have the moral of a ranger at the rat towers/rockodiles ... or you are at rank fountains with the dedication of a strong group to support.

yes we can scroll and have a better hardware but since it seems to become now a regular problem why not ask to have it improved?

I often do hours of Jades w/ Faf and a few other die-hard newbs, for the very fact that normal hunts only provide 1 msg. 4 hrs. Jades is a full rank. Thats a long hunt of boring, repetitive nothingness, but thats no different than hunting metz or mountain glen. The options are limited along with the experience that goes with them for higher level players. The mountain glen was a nice addition, but in the end it always seems the boring newb hunts produce the best rank results! But maybe thats a different topic...

Just sent a message to mmorpg.com to update some of the info on http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/49 (Mac and Windows, not just Mac, $14.95 retail price, and now free/month). It may help if others send in the info too, to increase the likelihood that they fix the page. It clearly hasn't been updated in a while.

Likewise, if anyone knows of other websites that list info about CL which would now be outdated, please let them know.

The topic is called, "Bot yourself into oblivion and boredom with newbs and rank well, or do some really hard healing hunts with a threat of departs, and get a message. Welcome to Clan Lord." For me, hunting Metz or Mountain Glen is not a long hunt of "boring, repetitive nothingness", and therefore different from jades, which I enjoy from time to time, but not for four hours straight.

If you have account issues, your first stop should be to the Account Portal. Login there if you can. If you know your account name or your email address under which you've registered but not your password, you can recover it by following the "Password Forgotten?" link.

If you don't remember that much, email Joe and work with him.

I only heard about it 3rd hand, so maybe what I was told isnt accurate. But he was one of the people that I heard named for abusing the coli-infinite coin bug that caused a rollback a couple months back.

Pretty sure he had nothing to do with it.

I don't know of anyone that was permabanned for that.

No I got banned for being a snert probably over 6+ years ago. Oh wait I know when I was banned! Around September 11, 2001 So that'd be over 7 years. I'm Zaroff, Meriin, Merstic and the like. Oh and if you go really far back I was Merlin. (think version 30ish until at least when the town grew from one screen)
