Dead Ends
Putting usefulness aside for the minute, simply not confusing n00bz could be a cause in itself. On those grounds (some/most may have been mentioned):Feodoric Mermeios wrote:It occurs to me that even if we did find someone who could help make us another altar, South Forest outpost would be one of the least useful places we could put it. Unless we were planning to fight someone for control of the mirror.
edit: Having thought about it again, I think an altar with easy access to mirror and thus both of the portals is not such a bad idea. (Especially if it is ever the case that both of them are out of town.)
- Miner's guild
- Gaia's temple (the one whose name we must not speak has screenshots of entering once upon a time)
- The PF outside the alliance castle (I kept wanting a reward for getting like 20pf)
- The rose
- The outpost (as above)
- The FH catapult
- The vermine tree and the feral's den... it's like you do all the hard work then there's no boss/prize at the end. I reckon 20 coins for the vermine tree and 50 for the feral's den (both as chests held by a 'boss feral' and 'boss vermine') would be a decent reward. Good for n00b coiners too.
IMO unless there is actually a solution, all dead end task messages should be changed. This is obviously nuanced because I dunno... maybe mystics are actively using all the above messages to control the world and we're not supposed to know. I doubt this, however.
Also in general, special items with no use are sorta dead ends in themselves. I know it's part of the game, but IMO everything should have at least one use (even if that use is 'novelty value').
Edit: forgot to mention... there's that bloody noid blocking a pathway in a cave somewhere. Sorry I can't be more specific about where

Gaia's temple is indeed enterable/solvable.
