Feral & AI Hunting Lecture and Field Trip?

Some basic skills are lacking with players of all ranges. These include figuring out how a creature physically moves and defeating its movement AI. Given no one reads the Creature page of the CLUMP, I wanted to gauge interest in a lecture and Field trip exploring the Feraling AI to discuss how to catch and kill or control who it targets.

Anyone interested? I can teach it where Feral AIs are abundant, based on level of characters. NF, Chamelpods or the Valley. All this info on how to make Ferallers move where you want them to and intercept them is on the clump, FYI. If there is enough interest, I may teach a follow up on dodging webs, rocks and other projectiles by predicting when and where they will be thrown. Also, I could teach how to scrape things off you if you are being chased, and how to avoid bumping into others during a hunt. Again, I will only teach this if enough people are interested in learning how to control combat situations better and increase their odds of survival.

Agree with Talas - and I've noticed lately that I seem to be bumping into others rather more frequently than I used to. Not sure why, though they often seem to just pop up in front of me as I'm trying to move somewhere.

I suspect it's convergence of attack patterns. As everyone closes in on the same click experience level, their individual hunt vectors and priorities will tend to converge, assuming they have similar training and roles.

yeah, I notice that happens too sometimes, and when I notice people using my same vectors or patterns. I just adjust it to match theirs slightly, until we can sync pretty well. With people that I have hunted with for years, we know each others’ movement so well we work like a team.

Anyone can actually teach themselves the timing of feralers and other creatures by just observing them. But there's some fundamental tactics I notice some people lack in groups combat with feralers as well as others.

Yes. It's been a long time, but I remember doing that, and much more, with Boris and the rest of Open Hands of those days. He frequently commented how hard it was to get exiles to listen to him and adopt his methods - although we did make some progress. I've tried to pass on what I learned, but I don't have the patience. 8)
