So this is kind of like slimes, except when you kill a large monster, it bursts into maybe 10-20 small monsters which would attack in a similar manner to gcp. no feralling, just straight onslaught with insane luck.

Very well suited to a queen arachnoid, as I'm told some can carry their young in on their backs. Hundred or thousands of them, at times.

I love that idea.

(Of course, then, why wouldn't you just avoid the queen? Should have a large chest, I suppose!)

Didn't know arachne were mammals.

P.S. In seriousness, I like the idea as long as it isn't an encounter similar to slimes... complete annoyance all for naught.

I love that idea as well. Be it a mother with babies on board or a monster that had tons of deadly worm symbiotes inside would also be cool.

You could even get a unique experience bonus for finding and killing all the spawned critters. And a chest from the momma, or at least something of value dropped would be cool as well. ie if it were a scarmis, then it would drop an egg.. but chests are good too

I disagree with the suggestion. I don't like the idea of more monsters after you already got rid of that monster. And GCP are really annoying.

On the contrary, I think having to make more choices in fights would make them more interesting. Ebb Meshra and Baby Meshra make the Estuary more interesting than other areas and expanding this to more monster types would be a welcome addition.

Gloria- I think the idea of a monster is that it is osmething that tries to kill you yes? We aren't talking about a puppy that you have in your house, it is supposed to be a horrible nasty thing that has one purpose, to destroy you. Everyone is entitled to their view so I accept yours as a valid one, but the notion that a monster should be more pleasant, just doesn't sit well with the whole... monster trying to kill me thing

But this suggestion would have monsters occur after it is already supposed to be dead. That sounds frustrating because you killed the monster but the danger isn't over.

Just like slimes and the ethereal ones that act the same way. If you know it's going to happen, then you are prepared for it.

I can't count the number of times I wished that a mammoth arachne burst into their medium sized version on kill…

and at the moment I just wish that for the Mammoth Banana arachne :P
