Windows Music

I used to use an old application about 10 years ago called "Cakewalk Pro" to compose music. It had a simple onscreen midi keyboard and allowed you to write music either by ear or using notes. As I write music by ear, I have been looking for a replacement application. The application that took Cakewalk's spot, is called Sonar but is heavily advanced.

Right now, I either spend alot of time learning Sonar or see if there is another application out there that suits my taste.

If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great.

I don't know if you want to take the time to learn it, but Reason is pretty cool.

I'm taking a look at Reason 5 Demo right now and this afternoon I plan on looking at FL Studio (previously Fruity Loops).
