Why is all the new flora in Town sticky?

I got out of the library for the first time in a while and noticed a new look for town center and the surrounding areas. I read up on thoomcare that there's been some turmoil with nature lately, so I can understand the source (and the reason it's there). But why is every single plant sticky? You don't bounce off of them like you do old plants, you stick to them, even with empty hands.

I'd much rather prefer the trees to be non-sticky, like all the other trees I'm used to. That is unless there's some game-engine requirement that they be sticky by the way they are implemented.

This is largely due to the way that we make masks on-the-fly. Improvised masks are sticky by default.

is there away we can walk behind these trees? (becuase you can only walk into the top of the trees(wicth unless climing it) is imposable)
