Arindal Immigrants

by tarra » Thu Feb 11, 2010 7:43 am

Good day ladies and gents,

as a fellow arindal inhabitant i have some questions about the cl world.
i ll quickly introduce myself. my name is tarra and i am born lepori.

I love :
Gambling, Adventuring, Carrots, Blessing Goats, Healing attention seeking fighters, Doing meaningless and meaningful runs
I am:
member of a healer circle, member of the gamblaholics, member of a silent force
I dislike:
bad weather, think abstinency, cursed marshs and christmas tree protectors

from the royal philosoph i got the vision, that somewhen in the future, we ll come upon your land.

What do you suggest for us new visitors to visit?
Any introducation material?
Any hunting grounds?
Any first aims/goals ?

Who can give some information/experience on the trainer similarities?
I mean, if have read the different names and mapping of the trainers between the worlds, but i am interested in real experience on the lessons.
e.g. what ratio between citi/recu mapped faustus/respia is needed to stay balanced (loose no sprit, withn our world its approx 1:3) etc. )

Maybe we ll get into small disscusion and I hope to not repost too much (cause there is no real time to read through all existing posts)

Best whishes from a far, endangered species
Tarra

Welcome, tarra.

The first resource I would recommend is:

http://www.thoomcare.com/

In the upper right hand part of the page are a bunch of other links to useful sites, some of which are kept relatively current and others not so much.

I like http://www.puddleopedia.org/

If you can let folks know what time you're likely to adventure, someone(s) may be able to swing around at that time and help show you around.

I dunno what the process will be for introducing Arindal folks into Clan Lord so answers to some of your questions will depend on how that works.

There's always my site: http://clump.noivad.net/ but it's geared more for learning the mechanics of the game which is the same as Arindal -- I think. If anyone out there knows both games well, and wants to write it up then I or that person could post the information to its own clump page on the differences between Arindal and Clan Lord.

Huhu everyone! This is my first post here, but surely not my last. I'm happily willing to be the English liaison for the mighty Silent Force of Arilon (as I'm the only native-English speaker in the clan ).

I'm Onashi, of Drakh Nor descent (similar in stature and looks to the Ghorak Zos.. I'm sure we'll get along famously). I was a pink-haired fighter in Arilon, and have been itching to sink my weapon into the strange creatures and explore the new lands of the mud puddle. I am a chainer, and I enjoy fights in the Coliseum and the Arena (Unsure if you have either of these in Puddleby?). My favorite weapon of old was my Oak Basher, which I understand is quite a rarity in these lands; second was my Hatchet. One thing you'll notice about me instantly is my desire for proper (read: perfectionist) spelling and grammar. I'm very much unlike many of my Nor brethren in that respect.

As far as thinking abstinency? Well.. he is a bunny, so abstinence isn't something he's remotely interested in  . Though, as for Christmas tree protectors.. we had a rather tenacious Christmas tree in our own TC, along with accompanying blinking lights, and a peppermint candy-cane seller... Tenacious, because they all out-lasted Christmas by about 4 (OOC) months. Along with the tree, there were many who wanted to see it gone, and a few who tried to cling to it.. hence protectors.

Hopefully my boat will land on your shores soon, and I can continue hunting, exploring and chaining fallens as often as I did in my former lands.

For those wondering what time of day most Ariloners will be among you, I found that our hunts most often started at or around 10am PST, and could last from anywhere between 1-5pm (PST), depending on the hunt conditions. They are 9 hours ahead of PST.

We are looking forward to meeting all of you. We have a coliseum and arena too. The coliseum is only open once an OOC week I think.

Oops you are probably right. Being a healer, I don't pay so much attention to it SINCE THERE IS NO WAY A HEALER CAN TEST ANYTHING THERE. (oops, ahem I'd like to see a way to test rodding ;) ) Thanks for fixing it Garr.

I miss tree! =(

Uhm...
Hiho! I'm Chopper, I'm a pink-eared lepori, and I'm a (according to borzon "worthless, suicidal") fighter.
I love: Gambling, tree, HYOs, carrots, dying by impressive beasts, Merowns books, shortyy sword, crystals, BYOs, Normal yellow orgas, starving yellow orgas, Orga plains, plainsville, and much more!
I hate dor's, treehaters, unstable bridges above boiling magma in hell (especially with evil horsies on my back), and cougars.

I really wish 9 tanzanites were enough for plainsville, and some HYOs...
Hoping to see you soon! =3

Strange. We had a couple of proficient healers-with-a-knack-for-fighting (Hermes and Frenzymac jump immediately to mind) that would jump into the Colo every once in a while. There was a trainer among 3rd Circle Healers that would allow them to train Balance amount and regen, I think (Similar to.. uh.. Swengus? Maybe? Stabilis from our world, but of course much less effective for Healers to maintain the balance). Is there a similar trainer in Puddleby?

Not really...

There is a trainer called Hardia that trains identically to Bodrus (from what we can tell).

Here's the weird thing though: Bodrus caps at 100 ranks, and Hardia caps at 300 ranks MINUS whatever Bodrus ranks that you have. So in terms of fighter ranks, the strongest that any healer can be is 300 Hardia and 100 Bodrus; but the ranks must be trained in that order. If you train 100 Bodrus first, you will only be able to train 200 Hardia.

Yes, we're aware of how silly that is. ;)

Other Pitfalls

Fighters: Do not train w/ Spiritus if you want to eventually get 50 Rodnus. It's the same deal as Bodrus/Hardia- Rodnus caps at 50 ranks MINUS twice the number of Spiritus ranks that you have*; but if you get 50 Rodnus first, then you can train as much Spiritus as you want.
*(e.g., for every 20 Spiritus you train, the Rodnus cap goes down by 10)

Healers: Avoid training Awaria entirely. If you want better self heal, train Sprite or Respia instead.

Everybody: Throw away your purse. It's completely useless.

I, too, have jumped in to battle three boloks, which is the max that I can hit. As healers get stronger, the creatures they can hit do not. A healer can train up to 300 ranks of Bodrus/Hardia (a weaker version of Evus sorta) (depending on which they train first; see point above.) but I wouldn't recommend it. (I do have 100 Bodrus, which I like). The fact remains I'd like to know what I can or cannot rod, and for how long. The coliseum lends itself to that kind of thing, but it's a pain to have the guy say you lost because you couldn't kill the stuff.

so awaria is no requirement for the sylphstonering? there where -ummm, around 50 lessons- from the arindal-awaria neccessary to train the sylphstone

Our sylphstone trainers have another name. The first one gives 30 lessons, is in second circle, and will heal you automatically for 50% of what you would heal if you /use the moonstone. The second one is in fifth circle, another 30 lessons, and will heal you for 75% of what you would heal yourself if you /use the moonstone.

Awaria is a trainer in second circle, but is not connected to learning the sylphstone. She claims to be good for self heal, and while that is correct, she doesn't explain that Sprite is almost as good for self heal, and has, in addition, some Faustus, Respia, Higgrus, and Sespus, and is regarded by most healers as better than Awaria.
