Dear Slyph

Dear Slyph,

I think I need help. I woke up yesterday morning after the Chaos Storm. I simply love the scent in the air following a Chaos Storm, don't you?

Aaaanyways, I got into my casual Forest Hunting outfit (the one that complements the trees, you know...Rule #5: Your Milieu is one of Your Accessories), and the fit was all wrong. I couldn't get a paw on it...they were MY clothes (let's not go there, please), and all. THEN I noticed they had a different cut. WHO was toying with MY clothes?!

Imagine my confusion when I scratched my head, only to find that my EARS were in the wrong place!!!! My paws flew to my cheeks in surprise, and guess what?! My NOSE had GROWN overnight!!

I looked in the mirror...but it's not ME looking back. I know some of the less stylish races recently got eyes, and...things. In my silly arrogance, I thought, "Can't happen to ME, no sirree." But...I was wrong. The hand of Chaos reached down and changed all us fens.

Our clothes are not right, we walk funny, we grimace....it takes all my self control not to make faces at the sight of our once lovely-beyond-equal sisters and wives...

What can we do?! Who is next?! Is there a cure?!?

Please dear, I know we've had our spats, but really...this is important!

Sincerely,

Brune, the horned orc-fen

Dear Orc-Fen,

You're suffering from a terrible disease that's sweeping the archipelago. And it seems that this illness can affect persons of any race, at any time, without warning.

Normally I enjoy a little chuckle when I read about the misadventures of other exilesÛthe trouble they get into with just a few dyes!Ûbut this is different. Dorfs are disgustingly puffy around the eyes. Fens have been either melted into new, ugly masses of fur or have grown great big breasts over night. Half the fen population now insanely stares at the sky, perhaps to hide their newly pinched faces.

No one is safe. No one has answers. No one will help you. No god will listen.

I'm sorry, Brune, but if this disease progresses as it did for dorfs and humans, you'll be stuck with what you see in the mirror. I'd invest in a nice cloak.

I fear for my Sylvan sisters, as well as the rest of Puddleby.

Don't forget that humans have lost unreasonable amounts of weight in their gut (which would be good if it wasn't disgusting) and we now just love to flail our shoulders.

On a second note, I've learned to love the comforts of a cloak.
