Does anyone have any idea for subjects the clump could touch upon that aren't in the pages?

Full explanation of SheildStones now that Super Chicken, bless his chicken soul, has recently figured?
Fallen messages and Horus requirement.
Ankrus messages and how far from next rank you are, like Cammie's suggestion.
Everything Gorvin & Taryn say regarding their formulae.
tks for being corrected, always been bad with names

I'd like to hear that explanation myself. I can only add what I know. So, any help would be welcome. I haven't seen anyone register in a while, and I'd welcome knowing it's still working. If people could email or message me here with what they know or even post here I'll add it.Cinnamon wrote:Full explanation of SheildStones now that Super Chicken, bless his chicken soul, has recently figured?

What are the messages? I know a few of them but have never tracked it so I'm not sure of the order?
"<name> is frustrated with your lack of progress."
"You have a difficult task ahead of you."
"You have just begun learning but <name> demands more effort." ?
"You are making progress.<name> will be pleased."
"You are well on your way to enlightenment. Think of <name>."
"You are close to mastering <name>'s lesson."
"You are ready for a breakthrough. <name> talks about you."

You forgot the "starting to learn" one which is after the "just begun."noivad wrote:I'd like to hear that explanation myself. I can only add what I know. So, any help would be welcome. Thanks Dyaus.
Here's the addition to the Experience page:
http://clump.noivad.net/index.php?title ... s_messages
Any other suggestions?... I'll have to look at Cinnamon's suggestions more...
I shy away from putting exact numbers in the CLUMP for several reasons, however your suggestion for an explanation of the shieldstone needs a write up.
What are the current fallen messages in order of least to most fallen?
Quite
Little more Serious
Significantly More Serious
Much More Severe
Maimed
Mangled
Far Too Mangled
Mutilated
Nearly Unrecognizable
Nearing Death
....
....
....
....
....
Periously Near Death

The next one is deteriorating, and the one after that is deteriorating seriously (or seriously deteriorating). I believe there was a post by Hunter, perhaps, that gave some suggestions when we were discussing the possibility of further divisions between nearing and pnd. If you can locate it and post it, we could probably see if it was picked up that way. I'm sure someone tracked them all, though, so they could probably post them too.

deteriorating
deteriorating a little bit more seriously
deteriorating significantly more serious
deteriorating much more severely
severely decayed
far too moldered
putrified beyond recognition

PND
That is what Layl told me about 2 years ago. They prolly still the same, since one sees the same messages now.

I'd recommend copying over the trainer messages from the WoD website in addition to just linking it to them for credit- sometimes their site is down.
They also have the progress messages for the blades (e.g., "you have become skilled")...those would be nice to have as well.

I don't, as a rule, copy over information from other CL web sites without permission, nor do I like to take stuff without adding value to it. I will however link to it.Alces wrote:I'd recommend copying over the trainer messages from the WoD website in addition to just linking it to them for credit- sometimes their site is down.

Just so you know. There's a new page I wrote for players at the very beginning of their exile called Your First Days in Puddleby. It touches on training, player interaction and exploring the town a bit. I'd like feedback here (or there if you have an account). Thanks.

I'm just fixing what I'd consider typos. However, is "muddle hole" a new twist of words? I left it in case you were using it to express your idea, although "mudhole" worked better for me.noivad wrote:Just so you know. There are a lot of people who definitely would not recommend a newbie who knows he/she wants to be a fighter get any Bodrus at all. You have suggested it, however. I think it might be better to put the two opposing views out there. You don't need to get anything particular for your first ten ranks; actually, pathfinding works fine, as does troilus or skea. Anything you would want to train later. It is more efficient to wait ten ranks and spend them on the Skea you will eventually get (or the pf or the troilus) and then get ten Evus, than to get ten Bodrus and then ten of the "whatever".

The CLUMP is a collaborative project, and I welcome different schools of thought on all pages.Lorikeet wrote:I'm just fixing what I'd consider typos. However, is "muddle hole" a new twist of words? Oh, "Muddle hole" was a brain twitch apparently. "Mudhole" works. Lori if you'd like to express an opposing view, you're welcome to edit the page to include that information, since you cold probably present that view better than one that doesn't hold the view. For now I'll simply insert your words here into it and you can edit it to your liking.
As always, thanks, as always for the typo corrections.
