(Very OOC Post)

Hello,

I am very sorry for Stora's absence lately. It appears the hardware I am using is finally dieing. I am running Stora on a very old iBook and it freezes or just plain shuts down now after 5 minutes every time I boot it. I am not sure of what the problem is but the cost to fix it would probably be higher than I am willing to pay. I am working on getting a different piece of hardware right now and will update you very soon. In the meantime I will sit Stora in the library and try and get some ranks to make him a better healer once he returns. Look for more information soon, I will try to update people as I progress.

Shame I have 2 (4 if you count the 2 wallstreets) *OLD* CL capable machines that need homes but aren't in a state to ship yet...and probably not capable of an OS anyone would like anyway

How if we throw a couple ooc coins in Stora's direction? I know many (anime) groups finance their servers at least to a big part by mini-donations. All Stora needs is a paypal-account, and let us know the email attached (by PM). 5$ by 20 peeps goes a long way to a used machine, I think.

Should I put this to FitB forum, for all those who can't get over the totally huge, totally personal gain Stora and PWC have from providing free healing in down periods?

Thanks for your offers of donations. I am tracking a few leads to get some hardware for free. At this point I am not going to ask for donations. My goal would be able to keep Stora up with no cost to me or others. As a last resort I may need to buy some old hardware from eBay or something. At that time I may ask for some donations.

Yeah I agree. The temperature here has gone up for summer and it seems to be effect the iBook. I keep it in the coolest part of the house, but even now at night the hardware will not stay up and running. It appears that the damage is done. The server is a first generation iBook so it is what 6-7 years old? Hehe I have a wallstreet as well, but I need at the very least OSX 10.4 to run Stora because of some of the functions I have written into the Stora code. Would love to use 10.5 there is some added functions I could include if I could get to 10.5.

My perfect solution would be an intel mac mini, but looking at eBay they still go for way too much money, $200-$400, even the first generation of the mac mini with the intel chip.

I just bought a frankenstein (replaced the combo drive w/ a basic CD-Rom) refurb 1.0GHz eMac with 1gig of RAM and 10.5 preloaded "for testing purposes only" (No backup disks included) for $100 on eBay.

It just came via UPS last night and it works great! It's got more than a few scuff marks on the body, but the screen is perfect. (All I wanted it for was composing bard music)

Free shipping, too.

I hate Stora IC, and don't really approve of him OOC much either.

With that said, I have a G4 quicksilver tower that is unused if you'd like it, I'll even cover shipping. For payment, I'd be allowed to kill Stora whenever I want. Oh, wait. I'll do that anyway=)

I actually made an offer to take over Stora (when the first clicker couldn't do it anymore) and put him on a dedicated machine. I would still be interested in doing so as a service to the community but I have no intention of giving any cash or hardware to someone else to do it.

If I had the time or experience I'd just made the scripts and stuff myself but alas I don't.

So, Stora is MIA again and the website is down.

Hate to say it, but this game NEEDS Stora to stay afloat. If I didn't have the ability to log onto Destian to heal my fighter, I wouldn't even be able to PLAY on many occasions.

I spent some of today sitting Destian semi-AFK in town (alone) and healing injured people as they ran up. Though, without automation, I'm a poor substitute for Stora...

Which website?

Last night was a storm, and sometimes it takes a bit for Stora to return after that. I think he finds the storms disconcerting.
