Puddleby's first ever musical. June 2nd 7PM PST

by Measle » Thu May 14, 2009 8:20 am

Puddleby Players will shortly stage their most ambitious play yet on Tuesday June 2nd at 7pm PST. It has the largest cast ever assembled and has some gimmicks that will astound anyone lucky enough to be in the audience.

In an experiment with publicity I'm only releasing little snippets of information about it.

First up today, here's one of our brand new cast: Salazar as the feared pirate captain Smellyfingers.

More sneak peeks to come.

Of course we couldn't be able to portray Smellyfingers in his true glory without someone to play all the people he kills. That's where Pun'isher comes in. Showing her versatility as an actress, this Puddleby Players founding member plays all the people Stinkf... I mean Smellyfingers butche.. um.. beats in a fair fight.

That date for performance once again: June 2 at 7pm PST.

Noted character actress Miug tackles one of her most challenging roles yet: That grandfather we all probably have who's just that little bit more racist than you're probably comfortable with. Not a bad person, just a product of their times.

See her and all your other Puddleby Players favourites at 7pm PST on June 2nd.

About that...

In the past we've tried to do plays in a time where both North American and European clanners can turn up, usually at about noon PST on the weekend. (5AM for me, but we Asian/Australian clanners are used to missing out). The trouble is, we get a smaller audience than US prime time.

Because it will be difficult to make a visionstone of this play, for reasons that will become apparent later, we may be able to have a second performance later that same week. Can anyone who is unable to make the opening night please post on what time and date would be good for you and I'll see what I can arrange with the rest of the cast.

I found some awesome Zo technology so "if" I'm still awake when that happens, I might be able to do a proper visionstone…

Time to put up a picture of the next actor. And this time its the title character. For a brand new thespian, Fishylish provides a surprising amount of gravitas to her role as.. well Inu already told Koppi so I might as well repeat it here.. as the mysterious Wizard of Peaceton.

Still waiting on suggestions for an alternate second performance time, if not we go ahead with one performance only on June 2nd at 7pm PST.

Well if you put it like that I'll d yours now and do Inu's last :P

In a shameless piece of cross promotion with Puddleby's filmed productions (as opposed to our live ones) Largo will be playing Schmoggle which may or may not be a thinly disguised reference to the producer of StickLord.

Here we see Largo behaving like an artist .. a bullshit artist... amirite.. huh?.. huh?

That date for the penultimate time: June 2nd at 7PM PST. Further dates depend on keenness of the posts here.

As you can see, we already have the largest cast ever assembled for a Puddleby Players play and in my next post, in revealing the final cast member I will also reveal why this production is different from anything ever attempted in Puddleby before.

I would say something like 2pm or 3pm CDT on a Sat. If anyone thinks I am crazy speak up!
I guess it would pretty early for the Asia/Australia people but maybe not unbearable so.
