Open tutorial/jam session?

by Rakshasa » Sun Apr 26, 2009 9:06 pm

Hey all,
With the recent influx of new people and increased interest in barding, I was wondering how many of you would want to attend an open session where you would be loaned practice instruments to fool around with? This could be a tutorial on how to use instruments for those seeking questership in the future, or a jam session/collaborative composition type thing, or just a chance for people curious about bards to mess around or hang out. Oh plus I will totally be there for autographs and giving you constructive feedback and whatever because I rule. And hopefully some more bards would like to come hang out too.

Rakshasa BARD MASTER OF THE BARDS GUILD OF BARDS.

Me-me-me-me-meeeee!
Tonight's impromptu concert rocked - and I think I need another autograph, I drooled on it :/

I am currently (tentatively) composing pieces with Tuborn in mind, the mournful giant.. But heavens knows I need all the help I can get, this is tricksy business I'm starting to suspect!

Is it possible to get my hands on an instrument, compose and play music without ever becoming a bard?

I'd assume so, since:

You can have an instrument 'loaned' to you within the bards field only. Attempting to take it out into the world will cause it to vanish.

What Ayella said. Bard Masters can loan you practice instruments, also there are practice rooms where NPC's will hand out practice instruments that disappear when you leave. But if you manage to get your hands on a regular instrument and aren't a bard, I don't think it will play.

Sorry I don't have a date for this yet, I'm aiming for a weekend towards the end of this month though.

Ive been so busy with PuddleBook and other things I haven't written much! I want to be there to practice what ive wrote and get some feedback, the npc rooms are one person only, right? ive been in there by myself but never tried having someone come in.

Alright it is set for Saturday, May 30th at 2pm PDT! Hopefully someone with a starbuck harp will be there, I can loan all instruments except for harps.

Wish I could be there, but I'll be a bit busy! (OOC sister's wedding that day. ;p)

Have fun, come up with lots of fun music!
