Yeah. When I look afk in town, I'm really looking at web sites, working on my site, or watching youtube videos. I'll react to SS messages or anything that makes a noise in the game. Once in the while I'll would use the /money command to keep me from logging out from the game by using the "enter" key.

There's a macro for that! :) *I’d post it, but they frown on keep alive scripts — not that they are very difficult to write… My thank group macro has a feature to thank people on my thankgroup list array every couple of minutes.
