Some sort of financial amnesty program might be appropriate as part of the revival initiative.

Arindal's Mystics: Actually Useful?!
I'd be happy with a system that would boot all belongings to a south town center welfare housing hovel if/when rent is past due for X period of time, or the account had been inactive said period of time.Paramedic wrote:Some sort of financial amnesty program might be appropriate as part of the revival initiative.

Arindal's Mystics: Actually Useful?!
Here's an image of an Arindal Mystic inside a portal. The portals are linked to several other portals, which are represented by images of areas inside. The mage can take others inside the portal with him/her.
Is that cool or what?

Arindal's Mystics: Actually Useful?!
I said yes on the poll not because I want our mystics to be 'just as good' as Arindal's, but just better in general. A lot of people have said extremely insightful things on both the problems and what could be done to improve them. Mystics appear to be a class that have died a slow death, and if anyone needs a rehaul or a revitalization, it's them.
I also advocate Daimoth posting more cool stuff that Arindal mystics can do, if only so we can stare at them and go, "Ooooohhh."

I too would like Daimoth to post positive suggestions for Mystics. CL Mystics need a shot in the arm. More JM abilities and more FM abilities, and perhaps a new tier of powers that, dare I say, are offensive in nature. That and more teleportation abilities (like summoning people to an area once the mystic makes it there.)Khural wrote:I said yes on the poll not because I want our mystics to be 'just as good' as Arindal's, but just better in general. I find a number of our abilities offensive.noivad wrote: CL Mystics need a shot in the arm. More JM abilities and more FM abilities, and perhaps a new tier of powers that, dare I say, are offensive in nature.

I think they should start changing game mechanics so that mystics can have more powers like they did ages ago with sunstones. I suggest healers not being able to heal unless a mystic is present to see the fallen's soul. Yeah sweet.noivad wrote:I too would like Daimoth to post positive suggestions for Mystics. How about all monsters that are out of sight to a mystic are invisible to everybody? >:)Intelligentjerk wrote:I think they should start changing game mechanics so that mystics can have more powers like they did ages ago with sunstones. Arindal's Mystics: Actually Useful?!
Wow, yeah. Cool stuff. I especially like that first picture you posted on the 26th. Awesome portal transport.
But yeah, I agree that CL mystics should have more powerful abilities... Since mystics already have the ability to use their Staff of Ballou or Akea to buff our atkus and balthus... Why not have staffs or abilties that can buff troilus, remove poison, remove intoxication, restore spirit, temporarily confuse enemies, or anything similar? I believe that mystics are meant to be the class of buffing. They're already good for that, but why can't they have a larger variety of buffing abilities? If mystics could do any number of these things, then I'm sure that most fighting groups would definitely WANT a mystic along with them.
Of course, I'm not saying that mystics should be relegated to buffing and debuffing only. Mystics already have different specialities. I'm sure that there could be many more varieties of uses that mystics could do. Some specialize in tuning, and other weird abilities that I have no idea about. Some mystics like to focus their abilities on porting. So, I assume that all of these areas could have additional abilities added to them, but they don't necessarily have to be combative based. I can see mystics never touching a monster with anything damage based, but still managing in being a great combative force, if their fighter party is strong enough once augmented.
