So ya im on a hunt today and suddently an agratis starts share toggling me, at first i think its cute and all but after a few mins it gets annoying. Then a second agratis starts toggling me, i try everything, /ignore etc etc but to no avail its now been going on for at least 45 mins, and i think this urgently needs to be fixed.

thanks, Natas

How about /ignore or /block also ignore or block /thank and /curse messages? I don't know why someone you ignore can still bother you that way. Seems like something that should have been fixed before.

It happened to Geotzou the night before, so it looks like someone is out abusing the Agratisen. It'd be nice for /ignore to /ignore everything though (karma messages, push/pull, shares).

Total ignore on Agratis, sure. On Payer Characters, stuff like /pull would be abusable, stuff like /share would go against group effectiveness and as much as I hate Karma disabling that would be bad too. Taking it to that level sounds like the person trying to ignore should just go play a different type of game, one that doesn't require them to interact in the typical MMO fashion.

Wasn't there a way to kick out abusive agratis?

If not, there should be..

Things like this are why, by the way, when the new demo system comes out there still need to be restrictions on the characters. If something can be abused, it will be abused. And it is a shame, and it will happen too often for GMs to be able to step in and deal with each individual abuse. It makes me really sad that people can't just play nice.

I'll think about the best way to address this case, feel free to post more suggestions.

Dear Slartibartfast:

Thank you for the help.

From what I have seen, sometimes some old players who no longer have an account would come back.

In this case, it's good, because they might see the changes and like the changes.

Maybe they would stay again?

However, sometimes we don't know who it was, but comes on to abuse by words, pull push, or share/unshare.

It might be too much to let every one to just boot them.

I think it might be good if more then 3 player boots one agratis, and he/she will be booted.

Some check point like this is needed to keep the CL world clean.

Just my 2c.

(OOC)

I am still wanting /boot or something like it to carry over to the new demo system. However, no matter how many times the Agratis was booted, they could still do the share toggle abuse. It may be difficult to implement, but I think either /ignore should also ignore /share and /unshare from that Agratis or /share and /unshare should be disabled for Agratis.

Most Agratis seem to be old players who no longer have an account, and these are always great visitors. There are less that are totally new, and these seem to talk very ooc a lot but are friendly. There are a few who are rude and/or annoying, and these are the most troublesome.

I'll think about it, but I can't see anything else to do right now other than improving /ignore, maintaining /boot, and possibly bking them. A lot of people are reasonable. It might be helpful before /ignore, /boot, or bk just to politely and specifically ask them to stop. The protections are needed for those who won't be reasonable.

Yeah, wouldn't this work, at least for this particular problem? Or is there some fundamental thing in the code that keeps /ignore from being extended to shares?

This seems like a pretty nasty problem. I've had trouble with shares bogging things down on slower computers in the past. I bet that four or five nonstop togglers could basically lag me out.

it doesnt seem impossible for /ignore to make a sidebar message and noise stop happening

How about two levels of ignore? like /ignore so that if the person is just annoying you can mostly pay no attention, but if they really get into trouble, ok, you'll help. Then there'd be /banish, where they essentially did not exist for you.

We already have /ignore and /block. I don't remember which does what, but one should block everything.
