What would you like to see classes on?

by noivad » Tue Dec 11, 2007 3:12 am

I'd like to know what people would like to be taught before I commit ot teaching a class to have no one come. I can teach a lot of the advanced stuff about fighting in the CLUMP: formations, web avoidance, fallback fighting, leading, scraping, dual rod alternation, etc. but most of that info is already there, all I'd need to do was demonstrate it really. Of course, I'd need a few TAs to be able to meet with me several times before class so we could form a cohesive fighting unit.

Actually, despite the funny ha-ha, I'd take that class.

Look around at the people that clan when you do. If you see a need for teaching, post a Koppi and see if there are takers. My suggestion would be to focus on entry level classes to begin with. (If you have an advanced group you see by all means make it so. :-) )

There isn't a right way to do it. If you can get 4-5 people and present 1-2 things they didn't know, you done good.

I've seen a few new faces in the 6-9pm PST time slot asking questions.

I wasn't joking. It should be a real class.

For newer exiles:
A general field hunting strategies class with field trip demonstration to cover the following:
running and peeling
maintaining balance
dropping on brick

For all levels of exiles:
A class like mentioned before on trainers for each class.

Geography class: To identify areas and level of difficulty

A class to assess the personality factor and help newer exiles identify what type of healer/fighter/mystic they want to be. i.e. a healer that specializes in horus, a field healer with a good proxi range... a fighter that bricks, a fighter going for ranger Maybe develop a personality inventory test to go along with it.

Flamewar 101 basics: How to initiate a flame war? How to maintain flameness and interest in your post

A class on how to properly clean and pluck a chicken.

A class on appreciation of the reviled (I won't name names...you know who you are)

and finally

A class on gags and tricks...how to have fun in clanlord at other's expense. Included in that would be proper annoyance level in ssing community. How to develop the worst possible jokes and puns. Don't hold back now. You know you can do it!

Here is an excerpt of the curriculum for the flamewar class....

Student 1: Skirwan, go eat some fish...you...you....wide eyed, robe wearing freak!

Professor: That is not quite correct Student 1...When you say that you must emit spittle and use some foul language... Observe:
Oh no you di'int you bleeepity bleep bleeep...mother bleeeping bleepity bleep.

Student 2: That really sucked professor. You are a myrm eating moron!!!

Professor: Yah! Well bleep you!

Note: This is just an example of how this training is desperately needed.

/share illora mone
/unshare illora mone
/share illora mone

translates to "yes, great idea for a class"

Another idea, a macro class...like what the heck is sharecad anyway and why is it important.

With the current population, the most needed class would be: Soloing for fighters and soloing for healers… (and yes I ignore Mysfits, they are there to suck and stay in town, no need of a class to suck or even stay in tc ;-) )

heehee
Easy fix. Being moonstoned should generate a textlog message identical to being proxied. Suddenly sharecads works for all healers except for burst healing. I don't think there's any solution there.

If you do show up to the University to take this course, you automatically fail.
