During a chat today, Lugubrion said he'd give a pass key to whoever found his brother (Tenebrion). Later, he just said he'd give it to whoever exiles agreed should have it. So... who should have it? I won't put a poll up, but as people vote I'll tally on this post who has been voted for however much.

Does this work for folks as a reasonable way to decide among ourselves who will receive the key?

Edit: Apparently there's some ambiguity about whether it was a pass key or a portal pass key that we're talking about. Vote regardless!

I was there for him saying it also. I had nominated J'jh to get the key because during a PTF day she had suggested that we check EP8 for Tenebrion. She and PTF were the first to lay eyes on him.

But yes he did say later that we exiles can decide....regardless I still nominate J'jh since she was infact the first person to see Tenebrion

It was my understanding that it was a Portal Pass Key, and not a Pass Key. A pass key is much easier to get, and can open the back door to Melabrion's and Tenebrion's (or whoever's).

If it is indeed a portal pass key, then I think we have to think of what a portal pass key is used for. It opens the door on Portal Island so that exiles can reach the Ethereal Plane without opening a portal. It seems to me that the key should go to an ethereal trained mystic, because that is the easiest way to get to EP 3, where the mystic forge is located. The forge is needed not just for EP stones and amulets, but for all the parts that go into making a kyeum. Since we are in need of these kyeums to stabilize the planes and control the incursions we have been having, and because MaryJane has been most active in trying to do the stabilization, I would propose giving her the key.

It was indeed J'jh who was the one who suggested that PTF go to EP8 to look for Tenebrion, on the day we found him lying there, and I think she deserves credit for keeping this alive. No one else gave a hoot about Tenebrion after he vanished in EP8 some time ago amongst all the Ether Clouds. You are wrong. I know of at least one other group that has actively tried to rescue Tenebrion, along with doing other EP things.

So J'jh suggested one day that you guys go to EP, and you found Tenebrion. Big whoop. MJ has been the one who has worked very hard to get to the root of what's going on with Lugubrion, Tenebrion, the kyuems, and everything else related to it. She deserves the key more than any of us, and plus she'll actually use it on a regular basis, as opposed to J'jh who will only be around mostly for scheduled OWE/PTF/PAG hunts.

Yes, Lugubrion may have initially stated that the key would go to whomever first found Tenebrion, but I think this was a grievous error. The key should go to someone who actively and consistently works to get this resolved.

The ethereal issues are not going to be solved solely by any elite group. It's going to take involvement from everyone. And I can't think of anyone who is more willing to work with virtually anyone in the lands to get this solved than MaryJane.

Except for several failed attempts to rescue him right when he fell. I was the leader of the first effort to reach him for a rescue, and found massed Ether Clouds blocking EP8. Other groups also tried that day and also found 100 Clouds. And then everyone apparently gave up for several weeks.

Exciting or not, she suggested it and we did it. No one else managed to walk 3 snells to get to him first - at least publicly. As far as Puddleby is concerned, J'jh did discover Tenebrion's remains.

I think Lugubrion deserves credit for his own choices. He was interested in his elder brother, and finding him was what he was rewarding.

While MJ has been very active in the "ether wars" (I guess that's the new name), she is hardly alone in this - and that is a separate issue anyway. While I have never seen a post anywhere laying out the whole story, I have heard much of it and posted quite a few details myself over the past months. Many folks have contributed knowledge, time, parts to keep this moving forward, in addition to fighting incursions as they happen. Don't get me wrong, I commend MJ for her efforts and I'm glad she is so interested in this. And I agree wholeheartedly with you that only all of Puddleby working together can bring this to a resolution.

I vote for MaryJane.

J'jh was indeed primarily responsible for Tenebrion being found. Stuff like this often gets forgotten in CL. Remember, after that really strong group got wiped out there people just weren't particularly enthusiastic about going back there. Plus it's EP which is a snore-fest for most people. So the bottom line is it's very likely we still wouldn't know where Tenebrion is if she hadn't suggested going there that day. Sure, the people with PTF that day all played a vital role in getting us there but it wouldn't have even happened had she not suggested it. So while I think MaryJane deserves the key I just wanted to take the opportunity to remind people of this.

Now why does MaryJane deserve the key? She's done more to promote this storyline than anybody. More importantly, she's more likely to put together and lead EP trips. She's also around alot and such keys are much more useful to the community when carried by people who play alot. Finally, we surprisingly already have a few portal keys on active enough people in J'jh's playing window and she's welcome to use the one I carry (Valtrim's) any time she wants. So is anybody for that matter. If MaryJane gets this portal key it would bring an active portal key into the (by far) most active playing window. That's a good thing.

Technically there's probably a bunch of people who deserve keys from this but we've only been offered one so MaryJane is the obvious choice IMHO.
