Okay, so I noticed that it's been an extremely long time since the University hosted any classes. Even though I never attended any of the classes aside from the one that I taught (well, maybe one or two others), I always thought this was a great idea. Now that we have the free month for old players, and usually summer draws in a few new people, I think this would be a great time to revitalize the University. There are new areas that many people haven't been to (Metz comes to mind), newer abilities (really oldbie returning players might not be terribly familiar with Champion or Ranger abilities), lots of other things.

For my part, I don't have any new ideas for what I personally could teach about, but I would be willing to do an encore performance of the skinning class that I taught a year or so ago. I'll post the date and time in a new thread, along with in the Hunting Hall and Koppi so it doesn't detract from this thread (I'm hoping there will be interest from others aside from me!)

Any other takers?

I dont see any harm in classes starting again, i also don't see any harm in people running the same class they ran before, you never know who missed it, who might be new etc. I missed 1 class i wanted to see.

I think we should have a chicken glory seminar followed by a hot tub party with our honorary guest Super Chicken. He can be the first to jump in the boiling hot vat sprinkled with aromatherapy spices such as paprika, garlic salt and paper. All those in favor say....

By all means, teach classes!

I'd like to invite everyone to use the University facilities southxxxxeast of east field to hold classes or for general meetings.

Fiona is the current Dean, so if you have questions about how go about classes, I'm sure she can advise you. I'd be happy to answer any general questions you may have.

Thanks, Maeght. I decided to circumvent the University itself since I wanted to try a new class as a gauge for interest in more classes in general. But if anyone else wants to teach new classes, please go through Fiona and the University. Although it's been dormant for a while, the University is a great part of Puddleby and I hope it does experience a renaissance now.

You didn't circumvent the University.

The University was founded to catalyze learning and discovering.

Make your own classes. Use the UoP resources or not.

The oringal concept was a log and two people not sure who the teacher was.

Has anything come of the University or has the revitalization ended before it began? I'd like to participate if at all possible and am wondering what the current status is.

I imagine the current status is when someone decides to do it, it will get done.

My suggestion: post in Town Square here on the Sentinel and Koppi that you want to set up a class or have one taught.

Don't worry about revitalizing the U. Find a room, teacher and students and go crazy.

Believe me, it was as big a surprise to the UoP Board as anyone. We had four places surveyed and East Forest wasn't one of them.

If we could create a tunnel from town to the U, it would come in mighty handy.

I think that would be an awesome idea... the walk from TC to east field isn't all that far, but any walk at all discourages people.

I guess my attempt to revitalize the University didn't work so well...

Needs a re-revitalization. Or people to just start teaching some classes.

Doesn't help that most of the UoP board are inactive.
