From what i hear, most of those mystics who finally make their way to full-mystic-hood lately, are being clicked by Full Mystics already. Its a way of keeping total control while still keeping the appearance of promoting new people.

The last few mystics who were promoted i had never seen previously in the lands.. and know what? i haven't really seen them since.. poof.. away they disappeared.. Then you have JM's who have bumped their head on this celing.. they have never been promoted even though they have lots of support from the community.. yet they "displeased" the mystic council some how and were never invited to play their reindeer games.. So, they clicked them less and less..

It really sucks where you have a class that relies on others for your advancement.. and its not something lame like "here you go, a new belt".. it is new skills, abilities and trainers.. Players should NOT have a direct effect over others training/enjoyment of the game. Give them some type of "circle test" things..

Some stuff off the top of my head..

A big maze similar to Colmerts casle where there are mentus-pf's.. and maybe true pfs.. make where they go to each test random, and how much they require random(not every time you go through, just every test its different). throw in some type of puzzles in there.. this door only opens if you hit the red sparkles.. this one if you jump on the blue.. an accuracy boost or balance boost awakens two different stone fighter statues(so mystics who had trained that wouldnt be penalized) with them they can persue a differnet more dangerous route(just make it work like befriend).. one swings more true but slow(akea).. one swings more often but not as accurate(balthus).. the strength of the boost = how long they stay alive for. Throw a few rats and chiggers in there to make it fun.. bam.. you have your advancement test..

Damn HoggleMysticGM rocks..

The whole "you dont click the right way, you shouldnt be allowed to be a full mystic" really really sucks.. and the mystics shouldnt get any new "cool useable" stuff till they really fix this.

Demote every single full mystic in the lands(to JM).. let them keep their skills.. and now let them pass the tests on their own merit, not based on who they know.

And there you go.

I bet the Mystic Council appreciates your conspiracy theories and so on Hoggle, but as far as I can tell (maybe your eye is more savvy than mine?) there are no Full Mystics who are alts of other Full Mystics.

I'm not sure which Mystics you'd "never seen," in the lands before they were promoted to Full, but that sounds wholly unlikely unless there are a few who have been promoted in the wee hours of morning without any fanfare, within the last couple months. Which is possible! Sneaky Mystics.

...or am I buying into another Hoggleism? It's getting hard to tell.

Not sure how long Hoggle has been around but...

There are some 'new' mystics around that really are very old mystics, my guess is within the first 5 or so mystics to make Mystic. They still are not around that much.. or maybe they are around when I am not?

The last time I played a mystic-path character were when you had as many characters as you wanted. So it was before any sort of player-control was involved. But I've been meaning to try it again.

I have a character sitting in the library that was suppose to be my Mystic. I have not started the path yet. I plan too but just have not had the time. My major concern is that even if I do well I would not be able to dedicate the time it takes to make full mystic.

Is there a Who made Mystic List like the 7th, 8th Circle list?

Never tried it, never interested me, although i can see the appeal for some. :) To be honest the people who play FM as main characters (and theres alot still) have my admiration because its not a class that interests me.

On a side note, I don't know much about the mystic class but i think you would be hard pressed to make a mystic now and get them to FM status with enough ranks to be useful. It's not that i think they aren't useful and JM & some AM also, its just now you are way behind the others with a low ranks gain.

Actually, Hoggle is correct. I click for all of the drow, sylvan, fen, thoom, dwarf, halfing, and zo mystics, while Aki clicks for all the unrevealed and spriggen mystics.

It is interesting that there are a large number of folks who are AM or JM who have left the game by virtue of personality issues. They weren't promoted, or weren't deemed promotable, or whatever the mystics want to call it, and we never see them anymore... OR at least that is the impression I get as an outside observer. True or not, impressions do matter.

Not to mention all the FM we never see anymore. It's good to see Drablak and Hepta around a bit more, but what the hell happened to Sativa, Zorton, Raldin, Himitsu, Aprender, Math, Valtrim, and a host of others? Have we even asked them why they left? or what would bring them back?

I see we have a new batch of hopefuls, and I hope that the lessons of the past will somehow rub off on those who have a say in such matters.

I do remember clicking a few AM's that were pretty well snubbed by some FM and JM. I feel as though the mystic society needs some work. I'm not sure if it's just a few FM that keep promoting themselves so they have control over the guild. I think it's a favoritism game to them, tho. At least to some. I know that Aki, Sutai, Callia, Rincewind and Zorton were all great people to chat with even if it were just some conversation about nothing.

I think the guild just needs some restructuring so that when the time comes that someone is ready, it doesn't take a player to decide it. And in fact, how does a player really know exactly what is needed to become a FM besides what has been told to them? Fighters and Healers need specific things/ranks to become what they are. Rangers and Champs too. Why not make the requirements for FM/JM go something like that as well? I'm not saying that the person clicking an AM can become a FM over the course of a day. Just that it needs something to change the course of what it is today.

It took my JM almost 5 ooc years to become a JM.. and I suppose it'll take another 5 ooc years to become a FM.

Edit: Corrected spelling
