The Clan Lord Sentinel

The picture you can see is of a Skien of silk, this is an item that several of the advanced arachnoids in the PC and SC areas drop (rarely) upon being killed, a bit like when Orga drop an eye.

We have had these items for many years perhaps a decade in total and have still found no use for them. We have distributed them amoungst ourselves and others (healers, fighter and mystics of all levels) but have been unable to fathom what their use might be.

Until recently we thought this was because the answer lay at the end of some unexplored area in the PC or SC, but recent exploration and conquering has proved to us that no trainer or NPC lives in these areas.

PAG has pretty much exhausted its ideas and is now offering a reward to anyone who can help us find its use, however important or trivial it might be. Apart from our gratitude we are offering 13000c to anyone who can solve this (who isn't a member of PAG).

We have a few spare Skeins to loan out to people and if your up for a challenge then contact me or any member of PAG and ask for a skein or for you name to be put foward and we'll try to get you one to play with/investigate.

I don't want to say too much about what we have tried, as we might have done it wrong and you'll crack the key to it. One thing we will say is its been tried in all guises i the PC/SC area, holding it, fighting with it, dropping it etc. and it didn't seem to do squat. Still if you have a theory and we test it, and it works out there the coins are yours.

All questions/thoughts/ideas can be sent to me via PM. If you need help to test a specific theory let any of PAG know and we'll try to help you test it. We are happy to help try your theories out.

Claims on solving the puzzle should be sent to me at the above address, movies are allowed, claims sent to other PAG members will not be valid (this is to ensure one point of contact for all).
You are welcome to show your findings to ANY PAG member, but contact about this must still come from you to me to stake your claim.
In the event of a draw the money will be split, and final decisions are down me.
We have quite a few skeins, but we will keep track of those we loan them to. Please if you run out of ideas give it back so someone else can try.

Ooh! I hear ske-in is fun. It'll be great to hit the slopes of C&S to try this out. I was a ske-a so this contest gives me a lift.

Seems this is a difficult, nigh on impossible task then. I had 1 person take a skein who hasn't come back to me, and one idea from someone else and thats it.

I'm curious just what people would be able to determine by possessing one of these things. All the usual commands have been applied. I gather libTailors have looked at them. Unless an NPC wanders out of the code and says, "Look at me, I'm advancing the story. Everyone gather 'round and I'll tie up the loose ends," it's just another forgotten thing that DT allowed to be created without purpose or resolution.

Do we know if there is a purpose to them? Not an intention. Not a potential purpose if people ever manage to get to PC snell 5678. A real purpose that someone can actually use them for. If it's just an intention, it's bs.

Cinn, thats the reason we are throwing it out to Puddleby. We have been told (OOC) that the use, whatever it might be is in-game. We spent many many hours trying to figure it out, we couldn't, we hoped Puddleby could, if not then i agree, we need a little hint or clue from the GM to help us on our way. We are pretty sure its not in the PC area we have explored everywhere (we think), and the usage points to something everyone can access rather than something far away.

They have been around for 2.5 years and we have failed to progress their usage, i think we have earned a clue from above, how about it GMs? A little clue to help us advance this, your all after player generated storylines, well this is one, we just need a little help now as its dried up.

Perhaps they can be made into parachutes somehow? At the tailor or at the parachute vendor?

Has anyone ever taken one of these to Peaceton?

Then again, is there anything in Peaceton that would even indicate the use of something like this?

Do you think that there may be a merchant/NPC within the Pitch caverns that has yet been discovered? Maybe make some rope from it, or some fine silk clothing.

Ok, i think i'll be ending this in a few days, seems no-one can figure this out. We'll have to wait for a clue or somin. I'll post when we pull the reward.
