The Order of the White Elephant hereby challenges the clans of Puddleby to participate in an Advanced Hunter competition, to take place on Saturday, November 19th at 11 AM Pacific (2 PM Eastern).

Advanced Hunter Challenge

Participating clans will meet at the docks west of Puddleby. One member of each clan is designated as its "Hunter." Each clan will have one (ooc) hour for its Hunter to kill, slaughter, dispatch, or vanquish (or help doing any of these) as many species of beasts on the Advanced Hunter List as possible. A species is determined by the exact name of the creature in the text log. Other members of a clan may aid their Hunter or harass another clan's Hunter.

Clans wishing to form an alliance should notify the judge before the start of the competition. Allied clans will share the points for one place. Allied clans should agree on a way to split the points before the competition. If no point distribution method is declared by an alliance, points will be split proportionately to the number of participants from each clan, with any odd point going to the clan that provides the Hunter.

Numbers of beasts slain will be calculated by scanning each Hunter's text log and comparing with the Advanced Hunter List. Each Hunter must also make a visionstone. A judge will announce by sunstone when the Hunters have to start and stop recording.

In the event of a tie, the number of vanquishes, kills, and dispatches will be tallied. A vanquish counts for 3 tiebreaker points, a kill is 2 tiebreaker points, and a dispatch is 1 tiebreaker point. If a Hunter kills more than one of a species with different kill messages, the message with the most experience will be the one counted for the tiebreaker.

Advanced Hunter List

Big Red Orgas
Lyfelidae
Tree Giants
Advanced Arachnoids (unique to Jade, Pitch, or Slate caves)*
Dews
Noths
Golems
Wyrms
Tok'hans
Undine wearing robes

* Any Arachnoid normally found in the original Noids cave does not count, even if it is encountered in the Jade, Pitch, or Slate caves. Black Widows are considered Advanced Arachnoids.

The Advanced Hunter List above gives categories of beasts instead of species names. I thought that 10 categories would be easier to remember than all the included species. (However, scores are based on species killed, not categories.) In most cases, the species that belong to each category are obvious. However, for clarity, I provide sublists of species for each category. These sublists are based on the creature lists on Puddleopedia.

1. BIG RED ORGAS (4): Orga Fury, Orga Wrath, Orga Frenzy, Orga Hatred.

2. LYFELIDAE (12): Harvest Lyfelidae, Snow Lyfelidae, Blue Lyfelidae, Wyrm Lyfelidae, Hunter's Lyfelidae, Pink Lyfelidae, Thunder Lyfelidae, Flower Lyfelidae, Orgaberry Lyfelidae, Tae-Su Lyfelidae, Starbuck Lyfelidae, Cold Lyfelidae.

3. TREE GIANTS (8): Tree Giant, Iron Wood Giant, Oak Giant, Sturdy Oak Giant, Frost Giant, Redwood Giant, Willow Giant, Ice Giant.

4. ADVANCED ARACHNOIDS (9): Jade Arachnoid, Olive Arachnoid, Malachite Arachnoid, Emerald Arachnoid, Black Widow, Crimson Arachnoid, Pitch Arachnoid, Albino Arachnoid, Slate Arachnoid.

5. DEWS (8): Neodew, Mildew, Wildew, Hardew, Grandew, Wickedew, Pallidew, Landew.

6. NOTHS (9): Dal'Noth, Kal'Noth, Vel'Noth, Zol'Noth, Gar'Noth, Sar'Noth, Hel'Noth, Xar'Noth, Tuz'Noth.

7. GOLEMS (2): Ethereal Golem, Mud Golem.

8. WYRMS (14): Ripper, Ember Wyrm, Serac Wyrm, Grey Wyrm, Blood Wyrm, Sun Wyrm, Earth Wyrm, Astral Wyrm, Baby Plesio'don, Plesio'don, Lesser Sarra'don, Sarra'don, Lesser Sarra'yrm, Sarra'yrm.

9. TOK'HANS (8): Baby Tok'Han, Emerald Tok'Han, Green Tok'Han, Grey Tok'Han, Lime Tok'Han, Olive Tok'Han, Russet Tok'Han, Tok'Han Shaman.

10. ROBED UNDINE (8): Wraith, Lesser Spectre, Hooded Shadow, Greater Wraith, Wailing Spirit, Tortured Soul, Banshee, Curator.

Corrections are welcome.

Edit: Added Ice Giant and Curator.

Would a Dredlock count as a BRO? It is Big Red(ish) and an Orga.

Big Red Orga is a term that developed because we can't easily tell those four species apart. On first sight, you might be wrong to yell "Wrath!" when it might be a Frenzy (or a Fury or a Hatred). On seeing a Dredlock, people yell "Dred!" not "BRO!"
