It's that time of year again! No, no, put down your weapons, we don't hunt the Super Chicken just quite yet. It's time for a Bard Guild Audition, and we want you to come!

There will be two parts to the audition, and you can come for either. First of all, we'll be auditioning those who want to become Bard Questers. Xel will cover what you need for that. We'll also be auditioning current Bard Questers who have an instrument that they'd like to audition on for the coveted spot of Full Bard.

So that we can include as many people as possible, we're requesting that those who want to audition send Xel an enchanted mail at maxnbk.0@gmail.com. We'll give through OOC: Sunday, August 14th for replies, and then we'll work on setting a date for the actual audition. We'd like as many people as we can at the audition, so we hope to work to find the best time for everyone.

And remember, we'll want audience members too!

Can't have anyone auditioning without some killer songs first, of course! If you haven't ever written music before, here's what you need to know, and some great resources in general.

Firstly, for information on the process of becoming a quester and a bard, visit the Bard Guild Scrolls. This will outline exactly how the guild operates, how you advance, and what you need to do to prepare for your audition.

Joining the Bards Guild mailing list is a good next step if you want to interact with other bards. Head to the join list to join us. You don't have to be a bard or a bard quester, just be friendly and you will find everyone else to be friendly.

To actually get writing, you'll need some music theory. Thanks to Baraboo, "Writing Songs That Don't Suck" is now easier than ever! Take a look at her notes which include many other links to great places as well and you'll be writing neato songs in no time.

To jump right in and start writing, Baraboo has also kindly provided us with a new and great tool to scribe our tunes! Her scrolls have all the information you could need. And don't forget to throw 'Boo a little love here and there for giving us this awesome tool.
