There seems to be a strange graphic bug, the window is not repainted when I move my character under MacOS X (10.3.8). The only thing which showed me that I was moving are the names of the library NPCs (Lirric etc.) which are redrawn (but they are not erased either):

It's probably not far from working: it can connect to the server, it displays the messages and the inventory, has all the prefs, etc. Nice work!

Ive had problems with my inventory, if i type /equip phant it'll equip my phantasmonomicon no problem, but if i double click on the icon in my inventory it says i have no <string of numbers> to equip, same with my healers shirt, kudzu bags.
It seems to have a problem with all my namable items

On the prefs, all the prefs are there but the prefs command isnt anymore.
The /name command doesnt seem to work, it only brings up the explination about it rather than renaming an item.

Shares only show up in the players list rather than the name tags.

The invintory window claims im holiding 35 items with -3 free spaces.
And dont get me started on the macro support or ill be here all day

You can report bugs with the in-game /bug command. Please include "Java client" somewhere in your bug. We'll pass them along to the developers.

We know the currrent Java client doesn't work properly on a Mac, at least not in 10.3.8. There's no need to report that. I've been told that fixing it on a Mac is not the highest priority, since of course there are other clients that work perfectly well there.

So is there a point to running the java client on a Mac? Is this the future of CL, regardless of plaform?

Its my understanding that the Java Client is developed on Linux. That it also
runs on Windows is pure chance 8)

I hope to test this this week. I'll post my findings if I actually get around to trying it out.

Isn't the fact that anything runs on Windows pure chance?

Lots of things run on Windows, just look at the list of viruses I've had on my PC. :P

Isn't the point of java that it works regardless of platform?

Theoretically. I always thought it was more important to get it to run for people who have no other options, though.

No, there are no plans to discontinue the regular Mac client, and I can't think of any reason to run the Java one on a Mac. The Java client is an extra bonus version for people using other platforms, or for those who prefer it to the Windows version when that is finally finished and released.

No, the Arindal people are working to get a Windows client, which should be usable with CL eventually. I think that's one reason they are doing an Alpha test now instead of a Beta test (I can't remember if I read that in English or in a Babelfish German version heh.)
