Well my house is gone. With no warning. Not only is the house gone, but so is everything I had in it. I guess I fell to far behind. I just wasent making enough coins anymore.

This is wrong. Once a player falls so far behind, they shouldnt be able to get into the house anymore. They shouldnt loose it. Once they get the money caught up they can get back in. Have a cap on it so it doesnt get to be to big of a hole.

And if you really feel that you need to take the house, the stuff shouldnt go with it. Transfer it to storage so they can at least claim it.

I lost a lot of important stuff. Stuff that I put a lot of time and effort into getting. Stuff that had a whole lot of meaning for me. I would like some kind of answer from a GM here. There have been a lot of things I havent liked in CL before, but nothing like this. Its not good to punish players.

I dont know if I want to play Clan Lord anymore. I guess I have a lot of thinking to do.

Ah thats bad :? i best check im not behind. I like the idea that you just cant get into your house anymore when you havent paid up, and i agre its a tad harsh that all your items vanish too. Lets hope that you might get some of the more important items back.

Arg, yeah they should make it like blockbuster or some crap. Out of town for a year? Have it charge a max back rent for 3 Zodiacs then things get frozen.

Nothing annoyed me more than coming back from a break, having half a dozen msgs in my post office box and it costing like 800c to read them... most of which were crap.

Sorry to hear you lost your stuff.

Couple of questions:

how long before your house goes away from the first late notice?

How are you notified?

I got no notice of any kind. I went to pay what I could last night with the money from the invasion and he said that key isnt to any of our houses.

I am guessing I was maybe 1k behind, not more than 2k for sure.

This issue was recently discussed among the GMs. Michael, I have passed on your post to make ure that everyone has at least read it. I don't know if or what is being done about it. There are plans of some nature to make the losing of a houes more reasonable but I do not know what the details are nor where it fits in the priority list. We may just have to ak for patience on this one for now.

This is a busy period for us all. Reasonable discussion will go far further than angry rants and I appreciate the tone of your post. Thanks.

Michael...are you medicated? I'm worried about you. (Seriously, that is a painful story though, I hope they do something about that. Stuffed Qual drink holders don't grow on trees.)

Michael, I agree there is a big problem here. I've seen pics of your place and was impressed with the trophies that looked like they took alot of effort to get. To lose all that without warning seems a crime. People put alot of time, effort and coinage into developing their homes. For it to go ::poof:: with no notice is a very bad implementation.

Heck, I have some crap in the storage lockers that I won't pay for because it's just crap. I get dunning letters from Storena everytime I log in, and that's been for at least 4 months now. She keeps threatening to auction my junk unless I pay up, but has yet to do that. Why can't Storena or some such character (Mortgageo?) send threatening letters to forclose on your house and send your items to auction unless you pay up? Considering the time and effort people put into their houses, at *least* 3 OOC months should be allowed for payment.

I think this a bug and your house should be reinstated. A system of notices needs to be developed for the houses similar to the storage spaces immediately to avoid this kind of discouragement. Pengy, can't they just modify the Storena script somehow for houses? (I know, I know, very simplistic view).

Don't worry - I'll fix it.

The data for your house is not gone, it's saved off someplace safe and it's fairly easy to put back. Which I will do.

I agree the whole housing reposession thing is a little messed up right now. It's way too easy to not notice when you get behind, and then lose your house. Which, depending on how much effort you've put into it, can really suck. Not fun at all. Your home is reposessed when you're X seasons behind in your rent (I don't remember what X is). You actually *do* get plenty of warnings.... but only if you have a post office box.

Reposession was originally intended to provide motivation to pay rent, and to clean up unused houses that people were no longer using (deleted chars, etc). However, I think I'm going to change it to disallow entry when you're behind on rent instead, and then we'll find some other way to clean out the old ones (perhaps by drastically extending the reposession time).

Sorry for the trouble,

Tinker

P.S - There have been some other houses reposessed as well. I think this part of the game mechanic is broken, so I'll put them back when the reposession thing is fixed (hopefully for Wednesday's update). I may not put all the empty ones back, since I expect a lot of folks just wanted to try out housing and then decided it wasn't for them. But I know some probably were full of furniture, and I will at least do those. If I somehow miss your house, just send me a private message on this forum, or an email to tinker at admin.clanlord.com, and I'll fix it.

Shh!

You might scare it away...

Seriously, though, that is kinda cool. Except that I threw away my key earlier. Or did I give it away? Can't remember.

Awe, screw it. Anyone have a refigerator box I can borrow?

Awesome! Thanks Tinker!

As an aside, Tinker mentioned we need PO boxes to receive notices about our homes. Could homes get mail delivered to them, as part of the rental fees?

Just an idea ;-)
