I took a break a little while ago, and when I got back I discovered that my house (#2143 in the treehouse) was gone. The key says it's "old" if I /show it, and the NPC in the treehouse says it doesn't belong to any of the houses there. I was just expecting to have a massive amount of coins due, but apparently not.

I was wondering if the house was actually deleted from the servers or if it is recoverable in some way, since I'd really like it back if possible.

At some point in the past, after having been away for a while, I checked the rent due on my place, and it was somewhere in the high tens of thousands. So I put my keyring in storage and forgot about it. Recently I took it out, and all the keys were "not to anyplace here" or some such. Whether such houses are recoverable, I don't know. I do know I have enough trouble trying to support myself, a relatively new fighter, a mystic and a healer on just the coins I can gather. Not going for more coin sinks if I can help it.

Same thing happened to me. Lots of clothes on mannequins, rare trophies, etc. lost.

I understand it's my own fault, but if it still exists somewhere .. I'd love to get it back.

Add me to the list of the homeless. Lots of neat trophies and stuff disappeared too. Would be neat to recover it, but completely understand if it's long gone.

Can people guestimate how long they were gone, or how much rent was missing? Just so one knows when it becomes too long, or too high.

There should have been a cap on storage and rental if someone has not been in the lands past a certain period. I don't like to think of all of the stuff I had in storage and my home that simply got the boot.

Punishing someone for returning to the game is not good game design.

I've had pending rent of over 20k coins on a bigger treehouse home and was still able to pay off and get the items. I dunno how long it was idle. Many months at least.

Wait wtf, looks like I've lost mine too. Heaps of clothes and stuffed monsters. Was the biggest treehouse you could get, too. That really suck.

I think there should be a way for folks like me who were gone for a very long time, to regain our storage and houses. I never really intended to come back, but I do feel a bit sad that I lost all of my storage and my home because I decided to return (okay I lost it because I didn't keep up payments, but given the circumstances, I think we should honor a returning person).

Have any GMs even looked at this thread?

I never got a house: figuring the expense would kill me if I ever took another break—which I had to. But, hopefully, other’s can be helped.

I wonder if the data exists on a backup somewhere? Are database extensions archived at regular intervals for the player database? I presume the instance for the key object contains the data needed in order to recover what was lost. On top of that, the ability to read the data from a specific database extension may be an issue or is it resolvable with an appropriate query?

When I came back a couple of weeks ago, I owed something like 43k in back housing fees. I had been saving since, but now my master keys aren't recognized at any housing areas, as others report. Upon using /examine, they're all old master keys.

So much furniture gone. And my dresses! Ugh.

Why have no GM's commented on this? I would really like to know what is possible. It's fine if nothing can be done.. It's the not knowing that I find most annoying.
